About the Event
Set in 1920s England, our adaptation of Airswimming by Charlotte Jones is a vibrant, darkly funny, and heart-wrenching tale of friendship, resilience, and survival. Persephone and Dora, better known in their fantasy world as “Porph” and “Dorph,” are two women locked away in a hospital for the criminally insane for failing to meet society’s expectations. To endure their isolation, they escape into a world of make-believe, Doris Day obsession, and hilariously absurd rituals. As decades pass, their friendship becomes their lifeline. Together, they find hope, laughter, and the strength to outlast the fate forced upon them.
