2018 was 200 years since the publication of Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. To celebrate this, SHU Performance commissioned a new play from Screenwriting lecturer Hattie Naylor. The production featured a student cast of eighteen (drawn from all year groups) and a backstage student crew of thirteen. Working alongside the students were a professional team (Director, Designer, Lighting Designer and Stage Manager) who coached them but also treated them like professionals, expecting the same commitment and standards they would find in a professional theatre.
